This is the twenty-fifth of thirty entries for #BlogFlash2012.

I've chosen to link the prompts into a single story. Each episode will be 100 words or less, as per the guidelines. The prompt for each day will appear below the picture and be capitalized in the story.

The Genesis Project – Day Twenty-Seven

Emmaline laughs. “What took you so long to get here, girl? Now I owe Remy fifty bucks!”

“Excuse me?!”

“I bet him that you’d come charging in here the day the news hit. Could have used your company to bolster me while my professional reputation gets drug through the mud.”

Paulina throws up her hands. “Damn it, Em! Can we just cut to the chase already?”

“How would you and Dr. Rasmussen like to help Remy and I make HISTORY?!

You've kept me sitting at the edge of my seat Ruth! It's challenge enough to rise to the test of a daily prompt, but to string them along so eloquently is truly amazing. Your descriptive flair is that of a professional honed at her craft. I could truly learn volumes from you. Thank you. :0)

I did wonder whether the 'breakdown' was some sort of ruse. This is a fantastic series with so many twists and turns, I can't wait to see how it turns out!
