This is the twenty-fifth of thirty entries for #BlogFlash2012.
I've chosen to link the prompts into a single story. Each episode will be 100 words or less, as per the guidelines. The prompt for each day will appear below the picture and be capitalized in the story.
The Genesis Project – Day Twenty-Five
Philomena stands beside Emmaline’s bed. “Considering how much you detest hospital food, I’m impressed you’re still here.”
Emmaline smoothes the sheets. “To the bitter end. Fortunately Nailah keeps me company and chases away the BLUES. Who knew children could be so entertaining?!”
“Not everyone feels the same way, which is why VSC won’t be hiring Parker. In any case, he’s much better suited to your new venture.”
“You’re giving us Parker?!”
“Yes,” Philomena says, a smile breaking the stern lines of her face, “but don’t you dare hug me in thanks or I’ll worry that you really have gone crazy.”
