This is the seventeenth of thirty entries for #BlogFlash2012.
I've chosen to link the prompts into a single story. Each episode will be 100 words or less, as per the guidelines. The prompt for each day will appear below the picture and be capitalized in the story.
The Genesis Project – Day Seventeen
“So, what’s it like, digging up GRAVEYARDS for a living?”
“We don’t dig up cemeteries so much as civilizations,” Nailah says, reaching for her ice tea. “It’s like a big treasure hunt, only in slow motion.”
“I don’t think I’d have the patience for it,” says Paulina, settling her napkin in her lap.
Nailah leans forward with a conspiratorial grin. “I bet you do! Think of all the mysteries lying beneath the soil, waiting for you to discover them. You’d be hooked inside a week.”
Paulina laughs. “Girl, you know I love a good mystery. Where do I sign up?"
